Apple Tree pupils visit The Standard

Pupils from the Apple Tree International Primary School this week visited The Standard newspaper on excursion. Accompanied by seven teachers, the pupils were taken on a conducted tour of the Newspaper’s offices and informed about the role of the various people who work there.

One of the teachers, Momodou Salieu Jallow explained that the purpose of their visit was to give inspiration to some of the children who want to become journalists in the future.
Mr. Jallow explained that the students learned a lot and they have got a basic understanding of the ways and the right avenues to choose in order to become a journalist.
The children were received by the Proprietor of the company Sherriff Bojang, himself a journalist who lectured them on the role of a journalist and the various methods used to produce and print a newspaper.
