The defeated Old Bakau Councilor candidate of the opposition APRC Haddy Gomez has extended peace and gratitude message to all supporters and opponents alike, calling on them to remain one and not allow politics to divide them.

In a statement shared with The Standard Gomez thanked the APRC regional and central committee members and those in the diaspora for the assistance accorded to her in her campaign and other matters.
She also congratulated her opponent on his victory.

“I will like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank and congratulate my opponent during the election, Lamin Dibba who has been duly elected as the new councilor for Old Bakau/Cape Point Ward. I want to challenge Mr Dibba for us to put all our political differences aside and work for the development of our community,” she added.

She continued: “As the electorate had played their part by voting you into office, it is time for you to serve the needs of the community, as it is a concern and should be a priority. My doors are always open for us to join together and put all hands on deck and work for the interest of Bakau.”
