The spokesperson of the APRC ‘No to Alliance’, Pa Modou Mbowe has confirmed to The Standard that he has rescinded his decision to resign from the group.
Mbowe, a respected member of the group led by Yaya Tamba and loyal to former president Jammeh, resigned from his position as the spokesperson last Friday, citing personal reasons.
However yesterday, he took to social media to announce he has rescinded the decision: “I am back again to withdraw my resignation as spokesperson of the mighty APRC. Love is unconditional. Thank you Babili Mansa and the APRC GDC family. Let’s get to work for the mighty green party”.
Contacted over his latest decision, Mr. Mbowe told The Standard that he has withdrawn his resignation after an overwhelming plea from supporters and the refusal of the executive to accept his resignation.
“When I talked to the top echelon within the party, friends, family, loved ones and even the chat groups and the regions, they all appealed for me to stay. So if they really felt bad about it and wanted me to stay, it is only natural that I listen because the party needs an undivided attention at this very moment. After all, no one owns yourself entirely. Man belongs to Allah and the people.”
