Police prosecutor Inspector Kemo Manneh applied for the court to order the accused to surrender all his travelling documents to the court since the victim is undergoing treatment and the accused is a flight risk.

The counsel for Mr Dampha however argued that his client has a family and valuable assets in this country and will not flee the jurisdiction.

The magistrate went ahead and granted him bail in the sum of D50,000 with one Gambian surety and ordered that the accused surrender his passport to the registrar of the court.
