BSS dontes medical items worth over $1.1M to Brikama hospital

Brikama Seattle Society (BSS) based in the United States of America, a society that has been in existence for a little over a decade, has recently donated some medical items worth over 1.1 million dollars  to the Brikama Health Center.

The items donated included 29 boxes of trima kits, full container of PPEs, 37 boxes of gloves and N95 masks.

The presentation of these medical items was held at the Brikama health center premises.

Speaking at the ceremony, Babucarr Njai, president of BSS, said they formed the society to make sure they take care of Brikama and its satellite villages.

“We are only focused in the health sector because we believe that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” he stated.

He said just last week the hospital also received some PPEs from them because since the Covid-19 started, the have been helping because PPES and gloves are needed.

He called on Gambians to emulate the Brikama Seatte Socitey, urging citizens of Brikama abroad to join the society.

Lamin Sanyang, the Officer-In-Charge at Brikama Health Centre, expressed delight in receiving yet another huge donation of medical items by the society.

He said the items will go a long way in addressing some of the health constraints in the hospital.

According to OIC Sanyang, this is not the first time the society came to the aid of Brikama health centre.

Fabou Sanneh, the former vice of the Society, called on Gambins in the Diaspora to come out in their large numbers to join the society to bring development in their communities and the country at large.
