Lieutenant General Yakuba Drammeh, Chief of Defence Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces has called on sister security services to come together as one big family and work as a team.
Speaking in Kanilai during his ongoing tour, CDS Drammeh urged security forces to forget their differences, reconcile and avoid repeating past mistakes for the best interest of the country.
“Let us work as a team and let us see and treat civilians as our brothers and sisters. Equally, we should cultivate a culture of tolerance in working with other services because there is a need for a good relationship with the armed and security in the service. In my opinion, no one institution is better than the other; we only have different mandates as stipulated in the constitution. So there is no need for competition among ourselves,” he said.
