The High Court in Banjul presided over by Justice Ebrima Jaiteh has struck out the civil suit filed by Comium Gambia Limited against the Minister of Information and Communications Infrastructure and the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (Pura) as the matter is being settled out of court.

It could be recalled that Comium’s operational licence was suspended earlier last month and the telco was asked to stop its services for failing to settle tax and other pecuniary dues to government.

The company sought redress when it filed an ex-parte motion in court which was granted with the judge ordering the company to resume operation.

But last Friday Comium applied to the high court to withdraw the matter on grounds of good faith engagement to settle the matter out of court.

When the matter came up, lawyers from the Attorney General’s Chambers did not object to the application to withdraw the suit.

Justice Jaiteh accordingly struck out the suit.
