A dead body of a so-far unidentified man was yesterday found at the Kotu Aqua pond, a sewerage dumpsite off Bertil Harding Highway.
According to eyewitnesses, the body of the man, believed to be in his late 30s, was discovered by a sewage tank driver who came to dump waste in the early hours of Monday.
The body was recovered by personnel of the Gambia’s fire and ambulance services and escorted to the hospital by the Police.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown by the time we went to press last night.
Police said they are investigating and will come with updates on the matter.
The location of the corpse led to wild speculations as how the dead body turned up at the place. “Was he flushed into a sewerage pipe from some place or was he killed and dumped at the site?” asked onlookers at the site.
