Pa Amat Dibba’s goal was enough for Hammarby IF to secure the bragging rights at AIK as the two teams battled in the Stockholm derby on Monday afternoon.

The hosts opened the scoring at the Friends Arena in Solna after 14 minutes but were levelled four minutes later before Scorpions international Dibba stepped up to settle matters with a winning goal in the 79th minute amid a cacophony of cheers from the visiting supporters.

“It was a fantastic feeling to see the ball go in and then when I saw the crowd go crazy, I felt even more happy that we won it,” Dibba said in his post-match comments before adding: “It is really nice to score the winner in the derby, it’s a dream for me!”

The 29-year-old Farafenni-born striker left GIF Sundsvall to join their Allsvenskan rivals Hammarby on a three-year contract last year.
He has scored thrice since making the move to the Tele2 Arena club.
