Ex-Fifa West Africa officer Kablan dies

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), yesterday paid tribute to Sampong Kablan who died a few days ago.

The Ivorian was Fifa Development Officer for West Africa and was directly responsible for the FIFA Goal Projects, which included the building of the GFF’s Football House Secretariat and the Technical Center in Yumdum. He died in his native Ivory on Friday 20th August, 2021 following a brief illness.

Apart from working with world football governing body, Mr. Kablan was Coach of Africa Sports (Ivorian Ligue 1) in the 1980s, where he won the national title, and Coach of the Elephants in the late 1990s. He also served as a Secretary General of WAFU.
