FOUR IN COURT FOR ALLEGEDLY TRAFFICKING 19 GAMBIAN GIRLS TO LEBANON

Messrs Ali Fneiche, Sulayman Bojang, Momodou Bojang and Alasana Jallow, are accused of recruiting and trafficking the girls to Lebanon for the purposes of exploitation. Investigators said the incident happened in diverse places in The Gambia, between January and December 2014.

The men have not yet entered their pleas. Only the second accused, Sulayman Bojang, was present in court.

The state prosecutor, Mansour Jobe’s application for a bench warrant to be issued against the other accused was granted by Magistrate Samsideen Conteh.

Meanwhile, Mr Bojang who has not yet secured the services of a lawyer was granted bail in the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dalasi.

The case was adjourned indefinitely, pending the arrest and appearance of the other accused.
