GAF FC mourn medic Sgt. Patrick Mendy

Tributes have been pouring in for Patrick Mendy a well-respected former Brikama United and Gambia Armed Forces FC team doctor . Mendy passed away Monday.
According to officials from both clubs Mendy was a devoted football enthusiast with a sound knowledge in sports injuries and medicine.

Malang Bojang a keen follower of Gambian football paid this tribute:
” I didn’t know him or interacted with him closely but I knew he lived and died for our local football which we all love. Every keen follower of our local football back home had attested to the fact that Patrick was one of the passionate care givers to our poor athletes and even fans. He was one of the few Physios that would often be at our football grounds always when needed. I wish he is rewarded with the fruits of his relentless sacrifices in saving lives, restoring smiles and promoting the youth faculty in our sports”.

The Gambia Armed Forces FC also posted this tribute: “Gambia Armed Forces football board, technical staff, players, fans and well wishers are sending our condolences to the family of the late staff sergeant Patrick Mendy, our team medic who departed from this earth by the call of God. May the angels welcome you to paradise. You will surely be missed by the players and everyone associated with you. Rest in peace until we meet [email protected] GAF we salute you”.
