GAF medical unit receives dental chair

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) Medical Unit on Tuesday 9 September 2020 received a dental chair from Professor Atif Amin.

The Professor said he donated this gift to the medical unit in the name of Superior University Gambia. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff and his deputy for the welcome accorded to him all the time.

The philanthropic professor Atif recalled the time he made donation to families of widows and orphans of fallen soldiers of GAF. This, he said, was in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. He intends to support in the nearest future, in the areas of education, information technology etc.

In receiving the donated dental chair, Col Alkali Conteh, the Director of Medical Services GAF, thanked Professor Atif for his continuous support to GAF. The importance of such gestures, he said, cannot be over emphasized as it goes a long way in reducing cost of acquisition of materials on GAF. He thanked the professor while encouraging him on such a laudable move.

Other speakers included Dr. Juliett Camejo Sánchez who is the Head of Dental department of the GAF Medical Unit. She expressed appreciation for the invitation to be present for the donation. She described the donation as crucial as plans are afoot to expand the Dental department and that any such help from outside would go a long way and would be most welcome.
