Gambian wonder-kid in Latvia Cup semis

Ali, a left-footed defender, moved to Latvia to join first tier side, Skonto FC on a free transfer from Slovakia side MSK Zilina. He is a younger brother to Kairat and Gambian international, Modou Ceesay-Zico, all of whom have served Zilina together. He sealed his move to the club on March 1st 2014. Unlike his former club where he struggled to break into the starting eleven, the bloke has found first team approval at Skonto with rapid improvement. Meanwhile in the new season of the Latvian Virsliga, Skonto won their curtain raiser at home when they beat Spartaks 2-1 but having lost 1-0 away to Liepaja, they are expected to react positively to amend their away form when they travel to Jelgava on their match – Day 3.

Latvia is situated in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. It is bordered by Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, and Estonia ,and by the maritime border to the west with Sweden…
