The Gambia Cyber Security Alliance has completed a day-long community outreach in Essau – North Bank Region.
They sensitised community members on cyber security, internet morals and ethics, security online, mobile phones usage and others.
Amadou A Bah, president of the Gambia Cyber Security Alliance said it was important for people to acquire information on dangers of social media, particularly those who often receive anonymous emails with outrageous claims.
He advised people to be careful of what content they share online.
He enunciated on the significance of their outreach, and said: “People need to prepare themselves on how to use electronic devices online”.
Ousman Mboob, a media officer for Future Generation Youth Association, said the sensitisation was necessary in a community that has little knowledge of electronic devices.
