Members and friends of Helensburgh Parish Church have raised an impressive £1685 for a Gambian school.
Young Church and Girls’ Brigade members designed and sold Christmas cards for Dumbarton London Corner Nursery school while member Patricia Low raised a further £865 through the baking and sale of Christmas cakes.
The money was presented to associate minister, Rev Tina Kemp, at a recent service.
Tina, who is vice chairman of the Dumbarton Gambia Education Association which runs the 90-pupil school, said: “Once again the people of Helensburgh Parish Church have shown their amazing support for our wee school.
“I’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who helped raise this fantastic sum of money which will make such a difference to the lives of the children.”
