In a stunning twist of mixed feelings for the people of Foni, a family horse survived a massive explosion that killed all three of its passengers including its master last week.
The explosion between Chabai and Wassadou killed a man and his two children riding on horse cart carrying firewood.
However a source told The Standard that miraculously the horse survived the explosion.
Meanwhile residents in the Foni villages bordering the conflict zone of Cassamance have been warned to take extra care when venturing out to the bush.
Police PRO Foday Conta while confirming the explosion in Wassadu said there is little or no clear demarcation of the frontiers around these areas, making the villages vulnerable to stray explosives from the conflict around there.
