It’s a day to the launch of the new album of The Gambia’s finest Afro-Manding singer, Jalimadi Kanuteh. The glitzy affair is set to take place this Saturday at the Kairaba Beach Hotel in Senegambia.
Produced by the Sangaranga Records, the album titled #Kuu Jamaa (translating from Mandinka as “lots of things” consists of five tracks including Mansa Musu, title track Kuu Jamaa ft Jaliba Kuyateh, International 99, Gambian women’s Lives Matter and Cherno Samba. This will be Jalimadi’s fifth studio album.
The event will feature guest performances by many of The Gambia’s top musicians.
Part of the proceeds from the event will be given to causes dear to the heart of Jalimadi. These include Mbama Care Foundation through its Gambian Women’s Lives Matter initiative, which works for ending maternal mortality during childbirth.
