He told journalists yesterday at the Banjul International Airport upon arrival from the Kingdom of Qatar: “I have strategic projects one of which is Vision 2016 which I want to make sure that by 2016, what I said is going to happen by the grace of the Almighty Allah. Of course, also the airport we need to…we have only one airport and if we have a problem here, planes will not land in The Gambia. That is not safe and it is like putting all your eggs in one basket. There are other strategic projects that I don’t want to talk about but agriculture, Vision 2016, the development of the airport and a second international airport are some of the strategic projects that we discussed.”
President Jammeh further thanked the people of Qatar for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation. He described his visit as “positive” adding that he had held discussions and signed bilateral agreements with Qatari officials.
