Pa Ousman Jarjue, the former Minister of Environment under former President Yahya Jammeh, has been appointed among experts for the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement towards a low carbon emissions and climate resilient world with the Green Climate Fund in Songdo, South Korea.
Jarjue who was once nominated for the job of UN climate chief, is reputed internationally for his sound knowledge in environment and climate change matters and was one of the most respected members of the former president’s cabinet.
In a short farewell message to his compatriots and well-wishers, Jarjue, a native of Tujereng wrote:
“I would like to thank all of you for the support and encouragement during this short period and look forward to contributing my quota from afar. God bless you all and see you some time next year Insha Allah”.
