Ali Cham alias Killa Ace was yesterday dragged to Kanifing Magistrates Court and granted bail after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and breach of peace.
According to the bill of indictment presented by the police prosecutors, the popular rapper on 28 October at Serekunda market conducted himself in a manner which the prosecutors claimed could tantamount to breach of peace.
Police prosecutors further alleged that the rapper also assaulted a police officer, Corporal Demba Bah on the same day.
The rapper who was in exile in Dakar, Senegal after he was allegedly threatened by the authorities for criticizing the former president pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The trial Magistrate subsequently granted him bail in the sum of D50, 000 and adjourned the matter to 15 November for hearing.
