His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho, Special Ambassador for Nutrition of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), will be visiting The Gambia from today Monday to Wednesday to highlight the link between nutrition and agriculture.
During his visit, His Majesty will meet with President Adama Barrow at State House on Tuesday as well as other high-ranking officials to discuss progress made on national nutrition programmes.
The King will also visit FAO intervention projects in CRR South, notable among which are the Njoben Vegetable Garden and Jahally Pacharr after which he will hold a press briefing before departing on Wednesday.
The Gambia and FAO work closely with the Government to address the challenge of malnutrition, which affects a sizeable percentage of children.
