Popular website Whats-On Gambia has published shocking revelations about the death of former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay – almost 22 years since his gruesome murder while serving as finance minister under the then AFPRC junta.
In an interview with What’s On-Gambia, a former State House insider alleged that Koro was killed because of his refusal to let the military junta plunder funds that were inherited from the prudent PPP government.
“There was a Dollar account in the Central Bank that the soldiers allegedly wanted to empty and share among themselves. Koro insisted it wouldn’t happen under his watch. He vowed to expose them if they go ahead with the withdrawal.
“They were not happy with him and decided to exterminate him once and for all,” the informant told What’s on Gambia.
Recently it was reported that Koro Ceesay’s family has petitioned the new government urging them to investigate his murder in June 1995.
