However, Sub-Inspector Alpha Badjie told the court that Mr Conteh’s case file was still with the Attorney General’s Chambers.  At the last hearing, the prosecution said the case file was sent to the Attorney General’s Chambers for legal advice and the case was subsequently adjourned to Monday for hearing. But on Monday SI Badjie said: “We have not got the file back and because of that, we have not called any witnesses. We urged the court to adjourn it for one last time.”

The lawyer for the accused, Lamin Mboge, did not oppose the application for an adjournment but stated: “If he cannot get the case file, I will follow up to know the position and location of the file in the interest of justice. I can even help him get his witnesses if there are any.”

The case at this juncture was adjourned to August 19 for hearing
