Love him or hate him; you cannot ignore him. He is the marmite man of Gambian politics. Last week amid much pomp and pageantry, Mai Fatty held the GMC congress. He was re-elected chairman and told his party faithful that GMC is the future of the country.
He recently told The Standard in an exclusive: “Gambians should stop talking and start working. We should begin to cooperate and work together and work for our country. We should support the government’s agenda for development and come together to see what we can do to take The Gambia to the next level. We should support the president’s development agenda that will set The Gambia on new heights. We should shun tribalism, regionalism and come together as one people regardless of political affiliation, put the best interest of The Gambia forward and then The Gambia will move forward.”
