Man stabbed to death in URR

A 24-year-old man identified as Amadou Jallow died Saturday at Sarekulay village in the Upper River Region (URR) after being allegedly stabbed by his friend following a quarrel.
Confirmed sources in the area told The Standard that the suspected murderer is one Pateh Jallow of the same village and that the duo has been friends until the tragic incident at about 2 a.m on Saturday, September 24.

Our sources said a quarrel broke out between the victim Amadou and his friend Pateh after which the accused person asked the victim to go out and fight with him.
“When Amadou arrived where the accused person was standing, he stabbed him in his neck which led to his death on the spot,” a village source explained.

The accused, Pateh Jallow is currently in the custody of the Basse Police Station while investigation goes on the matter.
So far The Standard has been informed that, the police have questioned about half a dozen youths of Sare Sankulay village for possible evidences and clues as part of their investigations.
