MOFA rebuts story about 5 Ambassadors

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad (MOFA), has issued a statement to clarify a report carried by The Standard Newspaper on its Friday 28th April, 2016 edition, stating that 5 Gambian ambassadors serving The Gambia in Dakar, Ankara, Brussels, Bissau and Beijing have been recalled.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad wishes to clarify that the report is erroneous and not at anytime have they been recalled. They are enposte.

“The Ministry further wishes to inform the general public that any new appointments of our diplomatic Heads of Mission will be accordingly communicated in the media. Consequently, media outlets are hereby urged to consult the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for any information that they may wish to be apprised of henceforth.”
