A Nigerian Pastor was arrested by police in Sierra Leone and is undergoing questioning at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sierra Leone Police.
The pastor is also accused of describing Muslims as terrorists and accusing the country’s late former Muslim President Ahmad Tejan Kabba of turning the Muslim-dominated country into an Islamic State.
Pastor Victor Ajisafe’s comments which were circulated on social media came few days after Mufti Menk concluded a three days visit to the West African country.
Apparently the Pastor was unhappy about the huge crowd that turned out to grace Menk’s sermon at the National (Siaka) Stevens Stadium in Freetown.
Angry Muslims in Sierra Leone who took to social media on Tuesday to condemn him, say the Christian preacher must have felt jealous of the huge show of solidarity to Mufti Menk.
Sierra Leoneans, both Christian and Muslim, were united in condemning the preacher whom they accused of threatening decades of a culture of religious tolerance in the country with over 70% Muslim and about 21% Christian.
