The Gambia Police Force have finally issued the Gambia Democratic Congress a permit after initially denying their reguest.
This sparked controversy on social media, with GDC accusing the Police of dictatorship.
However with the permit issued, the party is set to hold political rallies in Kular, Tumana tomorrow and Sare Boche in Jimara on Sunday.
By law, Gambian politicians who are using a microphone to hold meetings are required to apply for a permit.
Demba Sabally, GDC national chairman confirm to The Standard that the IGP has finally issued them a permit. This, he said, came after days of constant engagement between the party and the police.
