By Omar Bah The Gambia Police Intervention Unit (PIU) has taken over the much talked about bureau of the opposition Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC), party sources told The Standard yesterday. The seizure came few days after the APRC national Mobiliser Yankuba Colley told The Standard that they have nothing to worry about the rumoured investigation into the bureau. When contacted to comment on the latest development, Yankuba Colley, who is also the Mayor of KMC, said it is true that the APRC bureau is closed since Saturday. “Some men I can only identify as PIU officers came to the bureau on Saturday and instructed us to close it, but they didn’t tell us why or who sent them. All I can confirm to you now is that all our staff have vacated the place,” he said.]]>
