The police are trailing suspects in Senegal, Europe and the US as they widen the scope of their probe into the nude picture scandal involving a former diplomat and presidential aspirant Gen. Lamin Bojang (Rtd), The Standard has learnt.

The police spokesman, ASP Lamin Njie, told The Standard yesterday that investigators are now following leads in Senegal, Europe and the US.

“Currently, they [investigators] got some telephone numbers. Some of these numbers they are tracing to different locations such as Senegal, Europe and the US,” he added.

ASP Njie revealed that the police are collaborating with the Interpol in Senegal over the issue, adding that other partnerships have been embraced between it and the Interpol in the US and Europe.

Meanwhile, Gen. Lamin Bojang (Rtd) was late last year sacked from the Gambia Action Party(GAP) as its flag-bearer after nude pictures, reportedly shown to be him in compromising bed-room positions, emerged on social media.

The former Gambian diplomat to Saudi Arabia however denied the pictures were his and that they were intended to blackmail him.
