Under the auspices The Gambia Taekwondo Association, the Professional Taekwondo Gambia school on Saturday staged its 2nd Rank Promotion with some 35 students getting new ranks. Fernando Abaga Edjang, the head of Professional Taekwondo Gambia said the event, which is held every three months, always brings thrills to the students and this one was no exception. “We had a full house of participants and we have registered over 120 students, women and men, adults and children, ranging from young students to adults of 53 years old”, he told The Standard. He said the students were promoted to green, yellow and orange belts symbolizing their statues in the sport. The Professional Taekwondo Gambia school is based in Fajara opposite the Butches’ Shop.
