Ruling Nigerian party urges support in Gambia

Speaking during a recent fundraising gala dinner for the party at the Sheraton Resort and Spa, Madam John Esther Audu, Nigerian ambassador to The Gambia said: “Politics is all about conviction and we want to solicit the support of the people in any gesture that will triumph for their election in 2015 and their development priorities.

“I urge the need to strengthen the PDP followership in The Gambia and I urge the executive PDP Gambia Chapter to hit the road running with the ‘Congratulations PDP, Power to the people!’ slogan. Also we will encourage our patrons and individual Nigerians to join and support the PDP Gambia Chapter,” she said

Andy Osatohanmwen, the chairman of PDP Gambia chapter, said it was a great day that brought Nigerians together under one umbrella to solicit support for the party.

“We are going to unveil a new website where the public will be up to-date on their Gambia PDP chapter and enable Nigerians in The Gambia to follow their party. This will make it easy to access information from Nigerian newspapers online through the website,” said Osatohanmwen.

A live performance from the traditional Kabakel Cultural Group and a Nigerian musicians 5face Children, provided the evening’s entertainment. The sponsors of the gala dinner pledged their continuing support to President Goodwill Jonathan’s party.
