The Scholar Athlete for Change summer camp 2017 has ended at the Independence Stadium recently.
This year, 200 participants took part in the week-long convention of youths who were engaged in sports and academic activities.
The camp had presentations and speeches from prominent Gambian citizens and conducted field visits to facilities in Greater Banjul Area.

Andrew Dacosta, chairman of the board of SAC thanked the participants and the invited officials which included basic education minister Claudia Cole and a representative of the Taf Home Gambia among others.
Mr Dacosta extended special thanks to Mustapha Njie of Taf African homes for his kind generosity to the camp as well as Madame Janaiba Nyang of Action Aid and Mohammed Jah of Qcell.

The next camp will hold in the summer of 2018. The Scholar Athletes For Change (SAC) was founded by Pierre Jallow, a Gambian international basketball player and is designed to help develop the youngsters in both academics and sports. It has been staging the summer camp annually for eight years now.
