The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Islamic Development Bank recently donated 4530 cartons of sacrificial meat to the Government of The Gambia for onward distribution to the poor and needy.

The donation, which comes through the Saudi project for utilization of Hajj Meat, is part of the project’s meat distribution to eligible people in Mecca and other eligible beneficiaries in several countries.

Speaking shortly before the official handing-over on behalf of the Foreign Minister, the Minister of Information and Communications Infrastructure, Demba Ali Jawo, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi Government and the Islamic Development Bank for the gesture.
Minister Jawo further assured that the gesture will be equally distributed to the needy and the less privileged throughout the country.

“It is without doubt that we will further strengthen the bilateral ties and Muslim solidarity that exist between the two countries,” he remarked.

He used the opportunity to assure the Government of Saudi Arabia of the continued support of The Gambia under the leadership of President Adama Barrow.
