Solution Bay Spirituality (SBS) last Saturday held its 4th international Islamic forum at the Kairaba Beach Hotel attended by religious scholars, National Assembly Members, delegates from Europe and America.
In his keynote address Sheikh Baba Diallo, the founder of the organisation, said Solution Bay Spirituality is a movement which was created in Senegal some years ago, whose objective was to make its contribution to the quest for the healing of the world in suffering.
“Our movement since its creation does not cease to act in raising the awareness of the population on issues about the world and the challenges facing each of us on the social, cultural and ecological levels,” Diallo noted.
He said the topics of the forum have universal characteristics because the Gambia, Senegal, the sub-region and even the continent suffer the ills that are now affecting the other parts of the world.
“It is climate change, terrorism, unemployment of young people, racism and intolerance. We campaign for the protection and nurturing of peaceful coexistence among people,” he said.
He said media constantly reminds that the planet is endangered with current living conditions and the future generation degrading and terrorism gaining ground.
He called on the public to act and ensure that the world changes and takes a new course. International organisations and individuals must act, he said.
Pa Dodou Samba, Chairman of SBS the Gambia, said his movement has been contributing immensely to the social development in the country ranging from tree planting, food distribution during the month of Ramadan, donating cloths to the children of disadvantaged families to donating 500 bins in the Gambia and Senegal.
