Visiting Senegalese Army Chief Lt. General Cheikh Gueye yesterday met his Gambian counterpart CDS Masanneh Kinteh at the Defence Headquarters in Banjul.
After the meeting with CDS Kinteh, Gueye told journalists that the purpose of the visit is to strengthen the bilateral military corporation that exists between the two countries.
General Gueye further said the visit will avail him the chance to discuss pertinent issues that can strengthen the peace among the two countries and also to exchange training programmes between the two forces.
According to the Senegalese Army Chief, in order to overcome the rampant crisis in the world particularly the sub region it would be prudent for the two countries’ officers to meet, discuss and share.
After the meeting, CDS Kinteh and the visiting Senegalese delegation proceeded to the Naval Headquarters in Banjul where they are to meet other senior officers of the Navy to discuss other areas of corporation.
