Mrs Kujabi-Njie was recently elected for a second term by the general body of the association.
Her message read: “I write to tender my resignation as president of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia with immediate effect. This is due to maternal reasons as I want to dedicate more time to my children. I thank everyone for your trust and confidence in me over the period and I hope to continue serving as a member of the Sports Journalists Association of the Gambia.”
The post further stated that the SJAG executive will meet over the matter and subsequently the general body will meet in the coming weeks to decide on the future head of the association.
It can also be recalled that Sainabou was elected by the AIPS women wing to represent The Gambia.
