Businessman Salifu K Jaiteh, importer and exporter of second hand clothing, yesterday presented 100 bed sheets, 25 plastic chairs and 3 wall clocks totaling to D51, 500.00 to the Edward Francis Teaching Hospital’s Accident and Emergency unit.
Mr Jaiteh and his company have a long tradition of rendering humanitarian services to needy people and institutions.
On this particular donation, Mr Jaiteh said they have got a request from the hospital outlining their need for beddings and felt they should do something.
“We have been doing similar things since our inception over 30 years ago and will always be willing do help humanity,” he said.
Mr. Momodou Lamin Jammeh, PRO of EFSTH, thanked Mr Jaiteh for intervening at the right time when half of their beds are without bed sheets. “It is disheartening to see people sleeping on empty mattresses. So we cannot thank Mr Jaiteh more for this gesture,” he said.
