The Supreme Islamic Council is calling a media event this evening to announce the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
A statement from the body said the event will take place at its headquarters in Kanifing at 20:30 hours tonight.
The Ramadan is widely expected to start at the latest Thursday, depending on the sighting of the moon.
