Trust Bank Gambia Ltd recently donated D200,000 to the victims of the recent Brikama market fire disaster . Speaking at the handing over ceremony Mr. Sheikh Trawally of the marketing and sales department of the bank said immediately after the fire incident the Trust Bank Brikama manager visited the victims to join in their grief. He said this was followed by his own visit on the directives of the Managing director Ebrahim Salla. “So that we can have a firsthand knowledge of the extent of the damage so that we can assess how to intervene and today’s occasion is the culmination of those events and I am pleased to announce that Trust Bank is proud to donate D200, 000.00 to the victims,” Trawally announced to the delighted victims.
He further said the donation does not only include cash but love and generosity of Trust Bank Ltd to the people of Brikama. He said the amount could have been a lot more but because it is the end of the year their budget for donations is exhausted. “ As a matter of fact, we have to do some serious viaments to come up with this amount but this is a clear demonstration of how much we value our relationship with the people of Brikama which has gone beyond just banking but we are very much part of the community of Brikama, ” Trawally said.

He said Brikama is so dear to Trust Bank and that is why they don’t just call it “Sateba” but also,“the beacon of hope and the future of banking in the Gambia”.
The donation, he went on, is in line with the Bank’s corporate social responsibility policy objectives which are aimed at maximizing the creation of shared values, adding that every donation, the Bank is moving closer to its goal which is “to bring hope where there is despair”.
He concluded by thanking the Governor and other local government officials present and assured them of the Bank’s interest in their welfare.
