Television journalist Essa Jallaow, who is the manager of programmes at QTV, yesterday handed a 25-minute video tape recording of his coverage of the June 18 bloody riots in Faraba.
Jallow, who was invited to share his experience of the event with the commission, gave a brief account of what he found at the scene which he said was one of a highly charged atmosphere.
He described the sights of burning vehicles and household materials.Mr Jallow told the commission he was able to interview one of the villagers who escorted his crew to the scene and saw ambulances going in out of the village. He described how agitated the crowd was often making it dangerous to continue filming, adding that in the end he had to withdraw his crew from the scene and headed back to the station.
Mr Jallow then helped the Commission with a copy of his recordings upon request.
