Volleyball officials, players revel in qualification to youth games

Following the Gambia’s direct qualifications to the 2018 African Youth Games to be held in July in Algiers, the vice president of Gambia Volleyball Federation Bai Dodou Jallow said the country have now got bigger task to mobilise funds to be able to travel to the championship in Algeria.

The head coach of the team Alhagie Babou Joof reacted saying they would come all out to make upset.
“We are going to play against different nations with different styles of modern volleyball, so we have to prepare. There is no need to explain that we will be competing against teams from the best volleyball nations in Africa”. Joof stated.

Alpha Ceesay, the 14-year-old player, said they want to write their names in the history book. “I believe we can do it, almost all of us will be wearing the national colors for the first time, but we will control that pressure,” Ceesay stated with excitement.
