Senegalese famous musician, Wally Balago Seck with partners on Thursday donated food items and toys to SOS children. The gesture was meant to help the children at the village and contribute to their development.
Fanta Sidibeh Mbye said Wally has Gambian people at heart and will do everything to help them. She explained that this is not the first time Wally is giving to the children at SOS as he is a father figure to them. Even though the world is battling with a coronavirus pandemic, “Wally has taken it upon himself to visit these children and to show them love”.
Wally applauded the SOS executive for standing for the children and urged them to continue the good work. He said Gambians are always his priority. “These children are our leaders and we have to invest in them,” he explained.
Wally is currently the goodwill ambassador for SOS in Senegal, and he said it is part of his responsibility to stand for children in the SOS family.
Omar Idrisa of Afrikids commended Wally for partnering with them. He said their mission is to put a smile on all children’s faces in Africa and Gambia is not an exception.
Mariatou Sallah, National Director at the SOS Children’s village in The Gambia, said Wally has been a father to the children at the village. “He does visit frequently and always provides free tickets anytime he is organizing a show in the Gambia.”
Mothers representative at the SOS village called on other partners to emulate such and honored Wally for always being there for the children
