The alkalo said the 1,400 residents of the village are now sheltered in schools with some staying with relatives in eighbouring villages. The village has 95 homes.
He appealed: “We are begging the government, individuals and organisations to come to our aid. People are without roofs over their heads and for that I would like to solicit support on their behalf so that they can return back to their homes and rebuild their lives.”
