Gambian Muslim cleric Ba-Kawsu Fofana, who threatened to kill controversial Tujereng preacher Musa Saidy, yesterday reported himself to police, sources confirmed to The Standard.

Our source said Ba-Kawsu went in connection with his recent pronouncements on WhatsApp threatening to kill the controversial Tujereng preacher, Musa Saidy for allegedly insulting marabouts.

According to our source, Imam Fofana, who is a native of Jarra, reported to the Banjulinding police station.

Cleric Musa Boto Saidy too was cautioned last week. However, Ba-Kawsu has released an audio denying that he was arrested. He said he went to the police to inform them of his audio about Musa Saidy. “I made it clear that after the police called in Musa Saidy and cautioned him about his act, I was comfortable and abandoned by position. I went to the police unannounced to prevent people making it a public topic even before I went there. I went there by myself to meet and thank the police for taking action over the action of Musa Saidy. I am calling on all followers of religious leaders to stop and avoid insulting others,” Ba-Kawsu said.
