Press Release The National Sports Council has announced it has dissolved the executive of the Gambia Boxing Association with immediate effect following an unsuccessful attempt by the Council to unite members of the association. A statement from the NSC reads.. “The National Sports Council wish to inform the general public and boxing fraternity that following receipt of complaints from stakeholders of the Gambia Boxing Association, a lot of effort was made to reach a peaceful ending and solution to the disagreements among members of the Association. During the period, the National Sports Council engaged the two parties on a number of occasions in dialogue meetings with a view to discussing with them and resolving the differences among the stakeholders. However, it seems sections of the stakeholders are not willing to cooperate and work towards the development of the sport. Given the forgoing, the National Sports Council has decided to dissolve the executive led by Mr. PA Alieu Jallow with immediate effect. As a result, all matters relating to boxing will be handled by the National Sports Council from henceforth until further notice. We count on the cooperation and understanding of the general public.”]]>
