Messrs Hydara, the caliph general of Darsilami Sagnajor and the Alkalo Buyeh Touray are facing trial on a charge of disobedience to lawful order for not observing the Koriteh prayer on the state-sanctioned day, a charge they deny.

Announcing his appearance for the accused yesterday, Lamin Mboge apprised the court of the absence of his clients on the ground that the matter was adjourned for the defence to file briefs on ‘no case-to answer’ submission, as he sought indulgence for any inconvenience.

Barrister Mboge further submitted to the court that the defence had filed its brief on ‘no case-submission’ with service to the prosecution as well.

The police prosecutor, in his turn, confirmed receipt of the brief from the defence, while undertaking to file a reply on or before January 27.

At this point, principal magistrate Omar Cham deferred the case to January 27 for adoption of briefs.
