According to reliable information reaching The Standard, the singer whose anticipated presence has been a major selling point for Team-G, ‘lost’ his mother while on his way to The Gambia.

A palpably disappointed Gee wrote on his Facebook page: “The show will still take place and I will bring Demarco here in a few weeks. This is situations beyond my control. Apologies to all the fans. The tickets are now D200 instead of D300.  Expecting to see all the fans tomorrow at the stadium”.

An Entertainment industry expert who begged anonymity commented on the development: “Gee did make an interesting and bold choice of venue, the Independence Stadium which presents a challenge to fill with fans. Gee is always going to pull crowds but many music aficionados are drawn by Demarco who would have been a huge crowd puller for him. With a major fashion show at Kairaba Beach Hotel, Comedians Association programme at Alliance, GRA gala dinner at Paradise Suites, Manding Morry’s album launch the next day and upcoming Open Mic festival, Gee will do well to pull a respectable crowd. Let’s wish him good luck. He needs it.”
