A delegation from the management and members of the Dolphin Football Club(The Gambia), recently paid a working visit to Guinea Bissau on a sport exchange partnership programme.
Mamour M Mbenga (alias Kifa) president of Dolphin Stars F.C said the visit was to network with FC Cuntum of Bissau and other stakeholders on various sport projects.
Mbenga, also a journalist, commented: “Our objective is to forger a relation that would create an opportunity to bring young talents together in order to share experience in sports.
This initiative will cover exchange programmes, training camps, capacity building, branding and marketing between and for the benefit of the two clubs”.
During their stay the officials of Dolphin Stars were availed the chance to engage other stakeholders as part of a wilder networking opportunities arranged by their host FC Cuntum.” The objective here is to extend the football relation between the two clubs to national level, Gambia and Guinea Bissau,’” Mbenga said.
Pedro Bucar Sanha, president of FC Cuntum welcomed the Gambian club and expressed hope of a meaningful partnership between the two for their mutual benefit.
Mr Alberto Dias, Director General of sport of Guinea Bissau commended the great initiative from both clubs and particularly thanked Dolphine Stars officials for braving the pandemic to embark on the visit. He assured both clubs of government support in their initiative.
Mr Mamadou Salieu Balde vice President of Guinea Bissau Football Federation welcomed the initiative of the two clubs and pledged support to their activities.
While in Bissau, Dolphin Stars visited other clubs including Académy Catio Balde, Benfica De Bissau,Sporting De Bissau and the Gambian Embassy in Bissau where they expanded discussions on the project.
